About us

My name is Awamar, and I started Travel Tips for Students after realizing there was no reliable travel resource built specifically for students on a real budget.

Most travel blogs I came across were either written for people with unlimited money, or stuffed with generic advice that didn’t actually help when you’re booking your first trip on a tight student income. I got tired of it — so I built this instead.

I created this site to be the resource I wish I had when I started out. Every guide here is written with one thing in mind: giving students honest, practical information they can actually use — whether that’s finding a verified student discount, planning a safe solo trip, or figuring out exactly what a destination will cost before committing.

The blog covers student travel discounts, destination guides, budget planning, packing tips, and travel safety — with a free trip budget calculator built into the site so you can estimate your full trip cost before you book anything.

I focus primarily on destinations and deals relevant to US-based students, but most of the advice here applies wherever you’re traveling from.

If you have questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi — reach me at awamarchheena@gmail.com. I read every message.

A note on transparency: Some posts on this site contain affiliate links and ads. These help keep the blog running at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products, services, and deals I’d genuinely suggest to a fellow student.
